Q.Do you offer discounts for longer stays?
A.Weekly and monthly discounts are listed with the details of most properties. Discounts are not published for luxury rentals but may be available on a case by case basis for rentals of 2 weeks or longer. Email for more information.

Q.How do I make a reservation?
A.Just click on the property you would like to reserve. From there you will log in to our secure server and can select dates, additional services and view your grand total before submitting your request. Once we have received your reservation request, we will contact you with final payment instructions. You can check the status of your reservation online at any time.

Q.How do I check in?
A.Once you have provided a general arrival time, we will be prepared for your arrival at that time and date. After you arrive in Salvador, please call to let us know that you are on your way from the airport or other destination and we will meet you at the rental property for your check in.

Q.My plane gets in at 2:00 a.m. can I still check in?
A.For late arrivals we will leave a key with the doorman and the check in will occur the next morning after 9:00 a.m.

Q.What guarantees of your service do I have after making a payment?
A.Although there are other individuals and private real estate agents offering online vacation rentals in Salvador, Paradise Properties Bahia is one of few official real estate agencies to offer these services. In Brazil, businesses are subject to a much higher scrutiny than individual agents as there are numerous city permit and zoning offices that each business is accountable to. For the consumer, this means you have added security and ability to track down any unscrupulous business activities.

Q.What if I change my mind and don’t want to rent any more?
A.Once we have received a reservation deposit, if you decide to cancel a reservation with more than 60 days notice, we will refund your deposit less a 20% handling fee. For Carnaval rentals or reservation changes with less than 60 days notice, no refunds will be issued.

Q.I have five people in my party and the apartment description says that it sleeps up to three?
A.Capacity limits for apartments are enforced and you will not be able to put more than the advertised limit of people in the apartment.

Q.What is included in the rental price? Is there anything extra to pay? Do I have to pay any additional taxes or bills?
A.For vacation rentals of less than one month, unless otherwise notes, the price includes all taxes and fees. Some properties have a one time cleaning fee which is listed in the property description. For rentals of 1.5 months or longer, the tenant will usually receive a discounted rate but will be responsible for paying utilities and other fees. We will provide a cost breakdown for those particular cases.

Q.Is maid service included?
A.For some luxury properties, full maid service is included in the price. In some other cases, light maid service may be included which involves a quick daily floor sweep, tidying up and washing dishes. Laundry service would not be included for an apartment that offers ‘light maid service’. If you would like to include it, we offer additional full maid service including laundry, cooking, grocery shopping, etc. with your rental. click here for details

Q.What happens if I break something?
A.In the event that you break an item, you will be responsible for replacing it or paying the value for replacement.

Q.Is the tap water safe to drink in the rental properties?
A.It isn’t recommended to drink tap water in Salvador. However, bottled water is widely available at supermarkets.

Q.Are there any rental regulations?
A.All renters must adhere to the regulations of the apartment building. These regulations are strictly enforced and any complaints from the building administrator will result in an immediate termination of the rental.

A.Guests are allowed but must register with the doorman and present identification.

Q.Is Salvador safe?
A.By using some basic precautions, you should find Salvador to be as safe as any international urban area. During the day it is OK to bring a camera around to photograph tourist sites as long as you are careful not to dangle it carelessly in front for numerous passersby. If you are going to be in a crowd (including any visit to Pelourinho, Carnaval, or open air public festivals) avoid carrying any item you wouldn’t want to lose. Avoid bringing credit cards and bring just enough cash to get you through the night.

Q.Is the apartment safe?
A.All of our apartments are screened and located in safe areas. Many have 24 hour security. Lower priced rentals usually have a security gate rather than a doorman. If you have valuables and aren’t comfortable leaving them in the apartment, you may register them at our office and leave them in our safe.

Q.What can I expect for the state of the apartment when I arrive?Are there a lot of bugs in Salvador?

A.You may arrange for a transfer with us or take a bus or taxi from the airport.

Q.What about laundry? Where can I do it?
A.Some apartments have washing machines. For those that do not, there are Laundromats around town. Most are closed on Sundays. Alternatively, you may hire our maid services to for laundry, cooking, grocery shopping etc. click for more about maid services

Q.Do I need a mosquito net?
A.Mosquitos do not pose much of a problem within the city of Salvador. If you plan to go up the coast or stay in an area with lots of vegetation, you may need a mosquito net.

A.No, swimming pool, gym, sauna areas are all for use of renters.
